Scorecard

Hole By Hole Description

Hole 1 – Par 4 376 yards. S.I. 9

First hole is slightly uphill dogleg to the right. The fairway is narrowed near the landing area by a set of trees on the right side of the fairway. Long hitters have a good chance going past these trees but it requires a well hit shot. The second shot is challenging because one cannot see the surface of the generous green with is protected by a bunker to the right. A par to start the round is a good score on this short par 4.

Hole 3 – Par 4 438 yards. S.I. 3

The 3rd hardest hole on the course is a fairly straight by long hole with 2 fairway bunkers to tame the long hitters. Missing the fairway is penal. The green is generous but protected by a big bunker that runs from the right side to the back of the green. A par is a great score on this hole.

Hole 2 – Par 4 365 yards. S.I. 13

Another slight dogleg to the right. One has to hit the tee shot through a narrow opening created by trees. A good tee shot leaves you an easy wedge shot to a raised green. Miss the fairway and you’re almost guaranteed a bogey or worse. A par is a good score.

Hole 4 – Par 3 216 yards. S.I. 15

A fairly straight forward downhill par 3. Favor the middle or right side of the green to avoid the trouble or bad kick on the left. A par on this hole is a good score.

Hole 5 – Par 4 361 yards. S.I. 7

An uphill hole with a fairway bunker on the left side around the landing area. You will most likely face a challenging stance for your second shot. Yet another hole you won’t see the surface of the green on your approach shot. The green is protected by a bunker on the front right side. A Par is a good score.

Hole 7 – Par 4 357 yards S.I. 1

Don’t let the yardage fool you. This uphill hole plays longer than the yards on the card say and is the hardest hole on the course. You want to avoid the shamba on the right. A perfect tee shot is to the left side of the fairway to avoid the towering big tree protecting most of the green. Miss the 2nd shot short on the left and you’ll likely land in a fairway bunker. Hit it long and you’ll get in a bunker that protects the back of the green. Miss the ball right and the tree will definitely grab your ball. The hole also has one of the hardest greens on the course that slopes from back left to front right. A bogey is a good score, a par is a steal on this hole.

Hole 6 – Par 4 343 yards. S.I. 17

A relatively easy downhill hole gives you the first good birdie chance. Long hitters can hit a driver or even 3 wood to the green. The fairway is protected by two bunkers. One midway on the fairway and the next on the fairway but closer to the green to tame the long hitters trying to drive the green. A birdie is a realistic score on this hole.

Hole 8 – Par 4 449 yards. S.I. 11

This hole offers on the great views of Nakuru town and Lake Nakuru below. Take a moment to enjoy it. It is a long downhill hole. A tee shot anywhere on the fairway gives you good chance to attack the flag. The green is protected by a bunker on the back side. A birdie is a great score on this hole.

Hole 9 – Par 5 518 yards. S.I. 5

Don’t let the yardage fool you. This short par 5 has a sharp dog leg to the left. It favors those who can hit a draw on demand. A tee shot on the fairway gives you a good chance to go for the green in 2. However the green is well protected with bunkers on the front right and left that only leave a narrow shoot to the green for a long shot. A birdie is a good and realistic score.

Hole 11 – Par 4 393 yards. S.I. 12

A slight dogleg left with a fairway bunker to tame the long hitters. Another generous green that is protected with a bunker to the right awaits. A tee shot on the fairway gives you a green light to pin hunt and a good chance for birdie.

Hole 10 – Par 4 383 yards. S.I. 16

Favor the left side of the fairway on your tee shot to avoid a towering tree 50 yards to the green on the right. 2nd shot has to be precise to stay on the green. The front the green is sloppy which makes the approach shot tricky. Land on the slope and your ball might run through the green. A birdie is a steal and a par a good score.

Hole 12 – Par 4 325 yards. S.I. 14

Long hitters will be tempted to go for the green on this short par 4 which is a slight dogleg to the left. However, a miss to the left will lead to a double bogey or worse. The donker on the fairway adds the challenge to the tee shot, so choose your tee off club carefully. Hit the fairway and yet another green light to attack the flag. The green is protected by a bunker on the right but a birdie is a realistic score on this hole.

Hole 13 – Par 5 516 yards. S.I. 2

This short par 5 has a dogleg to the right and plays longer than the yardage indicates due to the uphill approach shot. A pulled shot to the left leaves you a bad shot from the rough or shamba. Play your second shot smart and you’ll give yourself a realistic chance to attack the flag and an easy birdie.

Hole 15 – Par 3 145 yards. S.I. 18

This uphill par 3 plays a half to a full club longer than the card shows. Grass bunkers on both right and left of the green forces one to have a good short to hit this table top green. A par is a good score. Take a moment to enjoy the view of the town and lake below from this green.

Hole 14 – Par 4 317 yards. S.I. 12

A relatively straight and seemingly easy hole that gives long hitters a chance to hit the green especially if they can draw the ball. Faders face a tree on the center left of the fairway that can wreck havoc on their tee shots. Hit the fairway and you’ll give yourself a chance to attack the flag and a realistic chance for a birdie.

Hole 16 – Par 5 517 yards. S.I. 4

Unless you’re a long hitter who can clear the hill in the middle of the fairway you’ll face a challenging stance on your 2nd shot on this hole. The 2nd shot is uphill and thus plays longer. The green is protected by a bunker on the left. All in all, the hole offers another good chance for a birdie on your scorecard.

Hole 17 – Par 3 181 yards. S.I. 10

Precision is key on this par 3 that offers all the chances to spoil a good round. By all means avoid a tee shot that lands on hill of this deep donker because it’ll leave you an almost impossible shot. Highest score records on this hole is 17 for a good reason. The green is protected by a bunker on the left. Play safe and settle for a bogey on this hole. A par is a great score. As you finish the tough hole, console yourself by enjoying the view of the town and lake as you walk to the 18th tee.

Hole 18 – Par 5 548 yards. S.I. 8

The hole offers on the best views of Nakuru town and Lake Nakuru below. Whether you’re having a good or bad round the views offers a refreshing consolation and makes you wish you had more holes to play. The downhill hole requires an accurate tee shot. Long hitters that hit the fairway are known to have a mid-iron approach to a tough green to hit. A layup is advised for most players to give yourself a good chance to close with a birdie. The green is protected by water on the front left and bunker on the front right. Anyone trying to challenge the green on two better miss to the bunker on the right. A birdie is a good score on this beautiful finishing hole.
